About

Hi, my name is Angus Clark. I'm a Canberra-based digital artist who loves all things film, animation and games! Growing up in rural NSW I found from a young age that art was my interest, I enjoyed making art and experiencing it. That is why I moved to Canberra to pursue a degree in the arts. With a Bachelor's degree in Digital Media, I wish to create and inspire colourful works as I find my way in the industry. I have attained a range of skills and experience with software such as Adobe products, Unreal Engine 5, Blender and Krita. However, I'm a lifelong learner and there's always new skills and software to be explored!

Check out some of my artworks utilising these skills and software or contact me via my socials.

Thanks for looking at my portfolio.

The Dingo vs The Chicken Animation

'The Dingo vs The Chicken' is a short animation I produced as my final project at university. The concept was developed around an interest in 2D cartoon smear frames and speed lines. Watch the short animation below or check out the 'Making of' video, where I go into how I developed the character rigs, assets and story.

‘Calthorpe’s Horror’ VR experience

Calthorpe's Horror is an immersive VR environment designed to emulate the layout of the heritage-listed Calthorpe's House.

…The chirp of crickets can be heard in the distance as you find yourself at the front door of your family's home. The dark pushes you inside as you find yourself uncovering the horrors of what secrets lay below your sister's bed. Welcome to Calthorpe’s Horror, an immersive virtual environment that sets you on a path to uncover the story of what happened to your family. But watch out, as you continue to unravel the truth you feel as if something is watching…

‘Imagination Unleashed’ Conic-Con Booth

I have had the opportunity to work on designing the University of Canberra Faculty of Arts and Design's 2023 Comic-Con booth 'Imagination Unleashed'. I Created and Drafted Concept Designs for the overall appearance of the booth, as well as developed illustration elements that were constructed into the final product. Working as a concept designer and illustrator on this project has allowed me to experience the production of an event from start to finish. I am grateful for the opportunity and to have worked along-side so many amazing other designers and artist.

Motion Capture Work

I have had the opportunity to participate as a motion capture performer for the University of Canberra demonstrating Flex13 Optical Motion Capture System at a workshop masterclass and Open day.

'Egg-venture' Concept Art

'Egg-venture' was the development of a range of concept art to depict a mythical video game setting.

Game synopsis:

‘The Kingdom of “Egg-topia” is a calm far away land from the ruthless lava oasis that surrounds it. That is until one day the foolish King Quackers' clumsy dropped his egg the rightful air to the throne. The egg rolled into the sea and floated away to find itself outside the boundaries of the Kingdom in a dangerous and unknown land. As the egg’s legs pop out of its shell it now embarks on a journey to find its way back home.’

3D renders

Over the course of 2020 to 2022 I learnt and developed my skills in modeling 3D assets within Blender. I also learned how to develop textures and correctly light scenes. This has allowed me to replicate realistic scenes.

Motion Graphics 'Take Action Now!' Ad

A 2D advertisement I developed in Adobe After Effects to showcase how you can reduce your carbon emissions.

'Nuclearia' Video Game

Nuclearia is an eerie simplistic retro-styled third-person shooter that surrounds you in a visually creepy environment. Try to survive as hordes of enemies track you down to end your fate. Find hearts to increase your healing and run around to stay away from the enemies. See how long you can survive in Nuclearia!
